Bad Blogger!
I've been remiss about keeping this blog up-to-date. I have to admit, now that I've got 2 facebook pages, a website and this blog (oh yeah, and once in a while I "tweet," too), I feel my cyber-life is getting a bit out of hand. I have friends who write these wonderful and witty essays on their blogs almost every day, which are linked (with photos, of course) to a multitude of other sites, and I think: What's my problem?" Well, folks, in the immortal words of Popeye: "I am what I am." And here I am (lame segue!) with my kids, both recent graduates, daughter Karly from UW-Madison and son Joe from Chaska High.
If you're in the area, we're celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Krista Artista Gallery with our biggest sale of the year, June 11-13. Thank you to all of my customers for supporting me all of these years. You're the best!

A Virtual Vacation
This painting, "Fred's Johnny Jump-Ups" (by Jill Van Sickle) made my day. I love everything about it, including the title. It's a burst of full-blown summer on a dreary February day. Another way I escape the winter doldrums is by reading about faraway places. I just finished Rohinton Mistry's Family Matters and A Fine Balance, both set in Bombay (Mumbai). Some books make me feel like a better person for having read them. A Fine Balance is one of those books. If you're feeling down because it's winter, because you're not going on a vacation this year, because you've had to tighten your belt, because the economy stinks--read this book. For me, it was a mcuh-needed lesson in gratitude.
